Youth TRAILS Viseu: Eco-tourism and Youth Mobility

In the last week of March 2026, the Youth TRAILS Viseu youth mobility successfully concluded. This event is a key pillar of the European project for peripheral areas. Specifically, from March 23rd to 27th, the Portuguese city welcomed 18 young talents. Firstly, the initiative encouraged the meeting of different cultures. Furthermore, participants could learn more about our Erasmus+ projects focused on the environment.

The role of Adamastor in youth mobility

The organization was entrusted to Adamastor – Associação Cultural. Indeed, this partner managed the local International Youth Hostel perfectly. During the week, the youths worked in small groups. Consequently, they identified new nature trails. Thanks to the support of the official Erasmus+ Programme, they learned mapping techniques. However, the work was not just theoretical. On the contrary, the participants tested the trails directly in the field.

Tangible results: digital maps and multimedia content

The activity produced very concrete results. For instance, the Youth TRAILS Viseu participants created interactive digital maps. These tools will guide future tourists through sustainable itineraries. In addition, the group produced high-quality video stories.

In conclusion, the experience in Portugal was a success. Certainly, youth involvement is essential for rural development. Therefore, the Youth TRAILS Viseu mobility remains a model for the future. In fact, the combination of digital skills and nature is the right way forward.
