Ventotene Seminar 2026: Call for Applications for Students

Do you want to explore the roots of European integration in the very place where it all began? Certainly, the call for the 45th Ventotene Seminar is a unique opportunity. The “Altiero Spinelli” Institute for Federalist Studies has officially opened selections for the 2026 edition, targeting high school and university students from the Lazio region.

First of all, the seminar will take place on the island of Ventotene from August 30th to September 4th, 2026. This historic event aims to train future leaders by studying federalist culture and the European challenge.

How to Apply: Requirements and Deadlines

The selection process is tailored to the candidates’ educational background. However, the final deadline for all applications is April 28th, 2026.

  • High School Students: The journey starts with a regional seminar in May/June. Following this, the top 15 students will qualify for the national phase in Ventotene. To apply, students must submit a 3-minute video or a PowerPoint presentation.
  • University Students: For this category, 15 participants will be selected to attend the national seminar directly. Selection is based on the evaluation of a short essay or a press article.

In addition, all candidates must explore the theme “The European Challenge,” inspired by Altiero Spinelli’s 1982 masterclass. In fact, the goal is to reflect on transforming Europe into a multinational space of peace.

Why Join the Ventotene Seminar?

In short, attending this event is not just about studying history. It is about experiencing active citizenship in a unique international setting. Therefore, Polygonal encourages all local youth to seize this chance.
