Is there a red thread connecting the history of Europe to the future of our schools? Certainly, active participation and civic awareness are the beating heart of EU institutions. For this reason, we are proud to be partners in the Val-You project, an initiative aimed at promoting the founding values of the European Union among secondary school students.
First of all, the project looks forward to 2026 by focusing on modern and engaging educational tools. The goal is to transform great democratic ideals into lived and shared experiences. To learn more about our educational activities, visit the Polygonal News section.
From the roots of Ventotene to the international meeting in Reus
The Val-You project has reached key milestones in recent months, connecting symbolic places of European history. In February, we took part in a training seminar in Latina for students inspired by the historic Ventotene experience. In fact, recalling the roots of European federalism is essential for training tomorrow’s citizens.
Immediately after, the team moved to Reus, Spain, for a project meeting with all international partners. However, it was not just a theoretical discussion. During the two days of work, partners defined crucial operational steps:
- Educational Kit: creating practical materials to support teachers in the classroom.
- Serious Game: developing a digital game dedicated to democratic values.
- Vienna Meeting: planning for the next international event scheduled for late September.
In addition, this shared work strengthens the strategic vision and expands the project’s impact at a transnational level. You can find more details on mobility programs on the Erasmus+ portal.
A year of movement for European values
The coming months will be decisive in bringing research results directly to the field. Therefore, the Val-You project will travel across Italy through online initiatives and in-person activities at schools, festivals, and cultural spaces.
In short, these are the pillars of this journey:
- Experience: not just theory, but concrete growth paths for students and teachers.
- Innovation: using modern languages to talk about democracy.
- Relationship: building a solid and lasting European network.
Certainly, 2026 promises to be a year full of opportunities and tangible results. For this reason, we invite you to stay updated on the next steps by visiting the official Democracy Education website.
