Pé ì Ndò Festival: Students in Giulianello Design their Future

How can young people reshape their local community? Certainly, the students of the “Cesare Chiominto” Institute in Giulianello are showing us how. This morning, we continued the Pé ì Ndò Festival journey. First of all, this project started weeks ago. It began with surveys designed to listen to the students’ needs and desires for their town.

Moreover, we returned to the classroom today to turn those ideas into a concrete proposal. Together, we decided to organize the Day of Play, which will take place this July.

Workshop Highlights: From Ideas to Action

During the workshop, students took full responsibility for the event. Divided into teams, they designed activities such as relay races, “capture the flag,” and a treasure hunt. However, their work went far beyond the games. They managed every aspect of the event:

  • Marketing: creating posters and slogans.
  • Rules: writing and illustrating the game instructions.
  • Management: planning the necessary materials and logistics.

In addition, working together allowed them to make shared decisions. Actually, it became clear that these students do not want to be simple spectators. They want to be active protagonists of their local life.

A Journey of Collective Growth

What started today in the classroom is the result of teamwork and creativity. Therefore, the Day of Play will be the tangible outcome of this shared path.

To conclude, we want to thank the school and the teachers for their amazing cooperation. Their support makes these experiences possible. Clearly, these initiatives are vital for the growth and active participation of the youth in Giulianello. Stay tuned for the official date!
