VAL-YOU’s Sabaudia meeting: Living Democracy Together with Young People

How can we stimulate active participation and democratic citizenship among the new generations? Certainly, the dissemination pathway of the VAL-YOU program offers concrete answers through local dialogue. During the month of May, a fundamental appointment took place. We are talking about the VAL-YOU Sabaudia meeting, a core milestone for debating civic education.

First of all, the initiative took place within the Lazio Seminar for Ventotene 2026. This important space for reflection was promoted by the “Altiero Spinelli” Institute of Federalist Studies. In fact, on this occasion, VAL-YOU was presented live as a real experience for secondary schools. To learn more about our ongoing community initiatives, you can visit the Polygonal news section.

Participating Entities and the Value of the Debate in Sabaudia

The event represented a moment of great educational value. Moreover, the VAL-YOU Sabaudia meeting saw the active participation of a diverse network of organizations.

The true protagonists of this shared growth environment were:

  • Young people: Students ready to debate the values of citizenship.
  • Educators and teachers: Central figures for bringing innovative methods into classrooms.
  • Local associative realities: Key drivers of inclusion and social participation.
  • Scholars and researchers: Experts committed to building a conscious community.

However, this was not just a simple theoretical lesson. The organizers and speakers created a true laboratory for open dialogue. We would like to thank all the entities present for making this exchange possible.

The Journey Continues: Connecting Sabaudia and Aosta

In addition, the reflections born on the ground also reached the digital landscape. In May, VAL-YOU took part online in the event “Women and Youth for Europe”. This initiative was promoted directly in the city of Aosta on the occasion of Europe Day.

For this reason, the experience in Sabaudia joined forces with the one in Aosta. Both appointments confirmed the central role of young people in promoting democratic values. A heartfelt thank you goes to the promoting entities and the guests who spoke in the different panels.

In conclusion, this journey demonstrates the importance of tools close to the language of young people. Surely, democracy is not just taught behind school desks, but is lived together every day.
